In the editor, Share with friends makes the script visible in the library's “Community” tab. From the library, 👥 chooses who can see it and 📷 uses the current chart as the preview image.
🔒 Protected code
A shared script can have its code protected: friends can add it to the chart, change its settings and create alerts, but cannot read or copy its code. For this reason the script runs on the server instead of in the browser.
- The first result arrives on the latest bars and right after on all the loaded ones.
- Scrolling back through history, values are computed in pieces, where you are looking: a still-empty stretch fills in a few seconds.
- With every new bar only the new bar is computed, so real-time updates are fast.
Copies of a protected script's code that ended up in other users' settings or layouts are replaced by a reference to the script.
